I’m the old broad! Born and raised in a big, loud, Catholic clan… Sicilian on Dad’s side, mostly Hungarian on Mom’s (though the family name couldn’t be more Irish, heh).  I used to be a “screamer” like many of my family members, but I’ve grown up and come to the realization that overreacting as a first response is definitely NOT healthy!  There’s so much more peace in my life now that I take the time to step back and think about the problem at hand and any potential solutions, before I try to formulate a response.

But I still have that little something inside that makes me say or write things in, perhaps, a more dramatic or shocking way than is entirely appropriate.  I’ve a mouth as foul as any sailor, and I’ve been known to create a stir simply by using a a turn of phrase that would, in some other context, be nothing more than “speaking plainly.” More often than not, I’m being “offensive” because I’m stating historical, biological or anatomical facts “in an improper setting.” All I have to say about that is, TOUGH SHIT!  If I somehow manage to offend you out of your fucking ignorance (or that of others within hearing/sight), good for me! 

Maybe you should know that it’s not normal to shit 12 times a day, or that gonorrhea is a fairly common STI in the sexually active population, or that people in your ethnic group are predisposed to some blood condition or another.  I have a finite number of minutes on this Earth, and I’d rather not waste them worrying about whether my disabusing someone of their foolish notions instead of actually spending time & energy weighing in with what I know (or don’t know… or have thought about… as the case may be).
